A MAN claims he has created a car that might solve the world’s traffic congestion problems. Rick Woodbury from Spokane, Washington USA, is the president, founder and sole employee of ‘Commuter Cars.’ The carmaker’s flagship model is the 2005 super slim two-seater Tango T600, a high-performance electric car that preceded Tesla. Rick told us: “I started this company 21 years ago – it was based on an idea that I came up with in 1982.” He was inspired by the shocking traffic congestion he had to face on a daily basis. “I used to drive a Porsche from Beverly Hills to Hermosa Beach every day and the traffic was horrendous,” explained Rick. What really made Rick think about a solution was the fact that in most of the cars he would see in his commute were occupied by lone drivers. “I noticed that everybody around me was a single occupant in a car, taking up the whole lane,” Rick said. Living and working in Los Angeles also helped inspire Rick’s unique creation. “I thought, everyone wants to get from point A to point B efficiently, and in cities like Los Angeles there’s really no centre, there’s no hub, everybody goes everywhere,” explained Rick. For him, there is a simple solution, and that is reducing the width that vehicles take up on the road so that 2 can fit comfortably in a single lane. “I don’t think there’s any other answer except doubling lane capacity,” said Rick. With a length of 102 inches this micro car can be parked just about anywhere, just like you would with a motorbike. Rick said: “The length is the same width of a semi-truck so I can park perpendicular to the curb.”The selling point of this vehicle is that it can drive in-between cars better than any other car. “The coolest feature for me to that it can get through traffic faster than any car in history,” said Rick. Much like a motorbike, the Tango T500 can drive right up to the stop line of traffic lights.

Nearly half of the UK’s pets now have their own dedicated room where they can relax in peace and store their belongings, research has revealed.

A poll, of 2,000 cat and dog owners, found 48 per cent have a reserved room for their pets or a space in the garden.

Just over half (55 per cent) want them to have their own 'chill out' area, while 34 per cent want to ensure maximum comfort.

And 30 per cent want all their possessions kept in one place.

But for 18 per cent, its sole purpose is so their stuff doesn’t take up space in the rest of the home.

It also emerged 46 per cent of pet owners have designed their home around their pet, although 21 per cent admitted they are unlikely to buy items to appease their furry friend that don’t match their interior style.

The study was commissioned by Homesense - part of the TK Maxx family - which has partnered with Kelly Brook, to launch a pet and interiors content series ‘Barkitectural Digest’.

In the style of a high-end home interior magazine, Kelly and her beloved pup, Teddy, grace the pages in a luxury home decked out with more affordable homeware and pet products to spread inspiration for other pet owners.

Kelly Brook said: “I adore Teddy. He’s family and a big part of my life he is, so it’s no surprise that there are elements in my home designed around him.

“It turns out I’m not the only one, and I am thrilled to help inspire others to design their perfect home and pet haven.”

The study also found of those who have designed their home around their pet, top changes included moving delicate things higher up (29 per cent), adding a cat flap (21 per cent) and installing a garden fence (20 per cent).

Others have replaced carpets with hard floors (16 per cent) or bought scratch proof furniture (11 per cent), while nine per cent have even chosen dark furnishings to disguise pet hair.

Nearly one in five (17 per cent) have installed baby gates to stop wandering cats and dogs and 19 per cent have covered up pet inflicted damage with blankets.

However, 38 per cent don’t believe there is enough inspiration available to help stylishly decorate their home with their pet in mind.

And 75 per cent struggle to find pet products that are good quality and reasonably priced.

The research, carried out via OnePoll, found owning an animal has been more expensive than expected for 41 per cent, with insurance and food among the costs that surprised them most.

While 15 per cent claim they spend more on their cat or dog than they do on their children, holidays and their car, with the average owner spending £708 on their furry friend a year.

As a result, 59 per cent have had to compromise on pet products due to their cost - especially on food, toys and beds.

A Homesense spokesperson added: “We’re a nation of animal lovers, and we believe you should never have to compromise when it comes to your pets.\

A Marbella party house was stormed by police after allegedly being fraudulently let out on Airbnb – for thousands of pounds a week.

The property, popular with British tourists, is said to have been used as a party house – with rowdy dos going on into the early hours.

Residents on the street say loud music was a common occurrence, with drugs and even weapons allegedly being spotted in and around the property.

Yesterday (25) residents claim police arrived to evict holidaymakers.

The property is understood to have been booked until February next year at £3400 per week with reservation charges of €1000 per guest.

Locals say the owner has now changed his locks and insists he had 'no idea' what had been going on at his holiday home after leaving it in the hands of a maintenance man.

It is understood it was then let out to another tenant without the owner's permission who then sub-let the property on Airbnb.

Residents on the street who witnessed the party house in full swing said: “It almost turned into a party villa with 40 plus people throwing crazy parties with drugs and alcohol.

“It’s been going on for eight months, it’s been going on for a long time – there's been a high turnover of people on short term lettings.

“The actual owner is back in his own property and has changed the locks and everything else and says he doesn't want to rent it out as a holiday villa.

“He turned up and a load of people were in his house who shouldn't be there, he wasn't very happy at all.

“He’s very unhappy with the maintenance man, he’s extremely angry with him, nobody told him what was going on.

“It was almost an open house, the doors were open – people were taking drugs, using NOS balloons, there was just lots of pretty strange stuff going on.

“Marbella is a weird and wonderful place at best of times.”

Videos from local residents show police, journalists and security cars lining the usually quiet street.

Guests and estate agents were seen arguing in the footage as tensions flared.

Police cars were seen patrolling the street and a locksmith was present to stop other unauthorised guests from accessing the property.

One local added: \
