Weighing in at 6600lbs and boasting a horsepower speed of 5,000, the vehicle was built by Perry Watkins from Buckinghamshire. After a night at the pub with friends, the idea of Oklahoma Willy was born. Perry told FutureStudiosCars: “We sit at the pub and come up with stupid ideas, I’ll then lock myself in the garage for five years and build it.” The owner of Perrywinkle Customs, Perry is no stranger to wild automotive creations. “It’s a bit like riding on top of a firework,” Perry explained. Taking around six years to build, Perry first bought a Rolls Royce Viper 535 jet engine, originally made in 1978. He stripped it down, polishing everything in aluminum, taking about two years to complete. Next, he added the after burner which took another six months work. Finally, he bought the VW pickup which had spent most of its life on a farm in Oklahoma, taking a further three years to finish. This rare and iconic vehicle is a prized possession of Perry, who doesn’t like to do something that has been done before.The top speed for the vehicle is 300mph, although the fastest Perry has gone is 157mph, an experience he describes as “exhilarating” but a “bit hairy”. The original engine sits in place making the vehicle street legal, providing you don’t fire up the jet. Perry describes the power as “one of the most incredible things you can ever experience.”")

Of the 50 P50s ever produced, only 27 are still known to exist today. Canadian, Greg, is one of the owners of these rare cars, and he told Future Studios Cars: “The P50 came out of the Isle of Man, basically the concept was a little car that you can use in the city”. With its DKW 49cc engine, the P50 has a top speed of 37mph and 4.2 horsepower. “It’s a one-seater with one headlight - I also love how it has three wheels, the back wheel is the one that is driving it with a chain from a little moped engine,” Greg said. With its uniquely small size, the P50 is not the most practical car to use. “There’s no reverse because you have to get out of the car and go around to the reversing handle, pick up the car and turn it around then get back in,” explained Greg. Although this is undoubtedly a small car, it has a big history. Greg said: “There was a Russian freighter that came into the port of Vancouver, they used it to drive around their huge freighter on the deck but then the refrigerator broke so when they came back, they traded this car in on a refrigerator”. Today, these cars are incredibly difficult to come by and are incredibly expensive - in 2016, a P50 was sold at auction for over $176,000.")

Four different steering options including aircraft-inspired controls; in-built television and tape recorder/player; electronic doors; vibrating massage seat; a hydraulic trunk and light-up neothane tyres made this car truly ahead of its time. A 24 carat gold trim interior, a white mink carpet and a mini bar in the back seat also goes to show how this vehicle was created to be over the top. At the height of its fame, having toured all over the USA for over four years, owner Jim Street retired the car into his collection. When he is under her spell, Asif ferociously clicks his teeth and even lets out a sort of war cry. We get so many close-ups that I started admiring how clean Akshay's teeth are. As I watched, I also wondered, how many communities will Akshay save? In Airlift, he saved Indian migrants in the Middle East; In Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, he saved women from the humiliation of defecating outdoors; in Padman, he once again came to the rescue, playing a man who creates low-cost sanitary napkins; in Kesari, as Havaldar Ishar Singh, he rescues a fort and Sikh honor; and now as Laxmii, he bats for transgenders and also throws in a few strokes for Muslims and a child with special needs. It's a heavy load. Which might be why his performance feels delivered in auto-pilot mode.<br/><br/>Laxmii is the remake of a Tamil film called Kanchana, written and directed by Raghava Lawrence, who also played the lead in that film. In Kanchana, his character, also called Raghava, isn't heroic. He's a cowardly man, so afraid of ghosts that he sleeps next to his mother and even insists that she accompany him to the bathroom. Some of the pleasure in that film was watching this wimp transform into the avenging angel Kanchana. Raghava has directed Laxmii but perhaps him and co-writers Farhad Samji, Sparsh Khetarpal and Tasha Bhambra who did the adaptation and dialogue, didn't want to risk downsizing their star. So Asif is some sort of ghostbuster. From his first scene itself, he is in savior mode, rescuing people from fraud babas. Kanchana was made in 2011. It's loud, simplistic and problematic in terms of representation. But Raghava created moments of cheesy fun and it was satisfying to see Kanchana ultimately get her revenge. The high pitch and stereotyping has not aged well and so much has been lost in translation. The tweaks to the original have only made this version worse – the interfaith marriage angle is laughably lame. Kiara Advani plays Asif's wife Rashmi. She does little except calisthenic dancing at the Burj Khalifa and widening her eyes as her husband behaves erratically. Rashmi's family disowned her when she ran away with Asif. They are offended that he is Muslim but not one person seems to notice the difference in age. Also Read: Laxmii, Starring Akshay Kumar, Is A Tone-Deaf Horror Comedy The writing is awful. The message of inclusion is noble but also obviously fraudulent because the film itself contradicts it. There is so much shrieking that it might induce a headache and perhaps the worst sin – the ghost, before it enters Asif's body, is basically a wig with a fan behind it.")

So Asif is some sort of ghostbuster. From his first scene itself, he is in savior mode, rescuing people from fraud babas. Kanchana was made in 2011. It's loud, simplistic and problematic in terms of representation. But Raghava created moments of cheesy fun and it was satisfying to see Kanchana ultimately get her revenge. The high pitch and stereotyping has not aged well and so much has been lost in translation. The tweaks to the original have only made this version worse – the interfaith marriage angle is laughably lame. Kiara Advani plays Asif's wife Rashmi. She does little except calisthenic dancing at the Burj Khalifa and widening her eyes as her husband behaves erratically. Rashmi's family disowned her when she ran away with Asif. The message of inclusion is noble but also obviously fraudulent because the film itself contradicts it. There is so much shrieking that it might induce a headache and perhaps the worst sin – the ghost, before it enters Asif's body, is basically a wig with a fan behind it.")
