Peter Smith, 64, a British national, was attacked by what appear to be a bull shark, while swimming along Turtle Beach Tobago,at around 9:15 am on Friday.<br/><br/>This happened ten meters away from shore, in full view of fellow swimmers who made a frantic dash from the water to safety. The emergency services were immediately contacted, and subsequent to the visitor being pulled out of the water, he was promptly transported to the Scarborough General Hospital, where he underwentsurgery and is in stable condition. Elizabeth Williams has been following the unfortunate event, and has this report.

Base officials stated that the Fighting Falcon went down near White Sands National Park shortly before noon.
