Description: Nestled on the protected inside passage of Georgia Strait, on the east side of Vancouver Island, Campbell River is home to some of the largest runs of passing salmon to be found anywhere on B.C.’s coast. Uniquely situated to intercept all 5 species as they migrate home, this area allows consistent fisheries for each species. Famously, the location is prime for big chinook salmon, as these ocean kings gather here to feed on bait fish all spring and summer before making their trek home.nnCurtis
