I wanted to be a missionary …nnI thought mission was my calling, but I never got ‘there.’ Oh, I’ve visited distant lands, experienced the life and ministry of missionaries in ‘foreign fields.’ In my childhood home, we prayed daily for missionaries that our church supported: Smiths in India, Bryces in Nigeria, Uncle Burt and Aunt Doris in Honduras. In my ministry years, I visited CBOQ missioners in Turkey, Kenya and Lebanon....nnMy first sermon was preached in Southside Baptist Church
